Perth won the bid to host the 2016 World Masters Athletics Championships (WMAC) from 26 October – 6 November 2016, which hopes to attract approximately 4,000 participants, and up to 3,000 supporters and officials, from approximately 80 different countries. The event is open to competitors aged 35+.
WMAC already had an existing WordPress website but wanted to get it revamped in readiness for the big event.
The new WMAC website uses dark tones to accentuate the blue colour scheme in their branding with large banners and photos which encapsulate what the event is all about.
The website needed to integrate with Google Translate to cater to the high number of international guests. The website also features responsive design which means it looks great on smartphones, tablets and desktops alike.
